I was in the midst of setting up my homeschool planning for the school year and also my personal planning for the academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve always been more of a paper person than a digital guru. But this year I have finally found a system that is helping me make the switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within each of the jobs that I have there are many tasks. It can be tricky to keep track of them all. Notion has become my new favorite tool for organizing my writing, homeschooling, to do lists, and planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most difficult tasks to track and keep updated are &#8220;projects&#8221; or tasks with multiple steps involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus enters the hero: <strong>the task progress chart &amp; assignment boards<a id=\"footnote-anchor-1\" href=\"#footnote-1\">1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are some examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are from the Template Gallery to give you an idea of how they work and so that I don\u2019t have to show my personal Notion planning pages. \ud83d\ude1c<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fcb5092a5-7aaf-4641-8586-e9c757d29a96_996x1286.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fcb5092a5-7aaf-4641-8586-e9c757d29a96_996x1286.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:592px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>What is exciting about this feature is that you make highly specific notes on what needs to be completed, including checkboxes, due dates, tags, and other fancy things I haven&#8217;t even figured out yet. You can also move a task to other columns as it goes through the completion process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Feac0ce62-2bfd-44ea-9835-bc7d2564ce6b_2161x1208.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/substackcdn.com\/image\/fetch\/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep\/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Feac0ce62-2bfd-44ea-9835-bc7d2564ce6b_2161x1208.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The beauty of a digital system like Notion is that once you set it up it you don&#8217;t have to do much with it each day. <strong>It doesn&#8217;t take a ton of time to maintain it.<\/strong> You just simply look through and see what needs to be done and do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My favorite features of my new Notion system:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the versatility of it &#8211; each page can be exactly what you want and need<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>it can be as detailed or a simple as you want it to be<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you can create templates and then copy them to other places<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the cool task charts &#8211; I use them in a variety of ways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I love the rabbit holes that I can create within the pages and things can link to each other<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is another template I found that is similar to some of the pages my college daughter is using.
