These fall-inspired habits will help you start your day on the right foot\u2014without sacrificing that warm cup of tea or coffee! \ud83c\udf75\ud83d\ude01<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We all have areas in our lives where we want to get things done quickly or \u201cget in the zone\u201d faster. <strong>Routines are the effortless solution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>When we automate pieces of our lives with routines we:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>remove decision fatigue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>become more efficient<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>we can relax into the rhythm of what\u2019s ahead<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I have routines for all areas of my life, one of my favorites is my morning routine. This piece of my day changes based on the season of the year and also the life season I am in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now it is fall moving into winter and I have teens and a 10 year old that I am homeschooling. My morning routine reflects these informative pieces and yours should reflect what is unique to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your routines feel stifling or restrictive it may be because they need a bit of adjustment for this season. Every week comes with its highs and lows, and I roll with whatever makes sense that day. I\u2019ve got my \u201cmust-do\u201d list, and then there\u2019s the \u201cit\u2019d be great if I could squeeze this in\u201d list. It keeps things flexible and calmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5 Reasons to Adjust Your Morning Routine for Fall\/Winter:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shorter Days, Longer Nights<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The sun is sleeping in too\u2014so embrace a slower morning!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give yourself time to wake up with the daylight (or lack of it).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Immune System Boost<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Morning light can make all the difference for energy, so open those curtains early&#8230;or stand in the yard enjoying the sunlight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cold weather means cold season, so build in time for a healthy breakfast, a glass of water, and maybe some extra Vitamin C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Weather Surprises<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Give yourself a few extra minutes to defrost both your car and your brain\u2014make room for unexpected delays and save yourself from feeling frantic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cozy Season is Here<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall is all about comfort\u2014add some cozy touches to your mornings and start the day feeling snuggled, not scrambled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swap your quick summer smoothie for a hot cup of tea or coffee and let yourself enjoy those extra moments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purchase some baked goods that you can enjoy in the mornings \u2014 or bake them the night before.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Holidays on the Horizon<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adjust your routine to include a little holiday prep, so we can make space for joy&#8230;and maybe some Fall or Christmas music to set the tone! \ud83c\udf84<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Changing plans and redoing routines does not mean failure. But don\u2019t make it too complicated. I do not need piles of stuff to accomplish my routines well. I just need a few triggers for my senses to get in the mode of what I am doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>light a cinnamon candle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use a nice lotion on your hands or a special face wash<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have tea or coffee ready to make (with fun mix ins)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>listen to a specific podcast, playlist, or morning audio devotional<a href=\"#footnote-2\" id=\"footnote-anchor-2\">2<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a soft blanket waiting for you at your kitchen chair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pumpkin muffins or Grandma\u2019s banana bread recipe<a href=\"#footnote-3\" id=\"footnote-anchor-3\">3<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>adjust the pacing to make the most of your time \u2014 Ex: I quickly brush my teeth, shower, and get dressed so that I have more time to linger when I am journaling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When we include the senses we experience things on a deeper level. If the day kicks off with someone needing something from me before I&#8217;ve even felt remotely human, things tend to go downhill fast. But when I take care of myself first, I&#8217;ve got so much more to give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adjusting your fall\/winter morning routine will help you be the best version of yourself. It will prepare you for the day so you can make a positive impact on this hurting world.
