[What I actually read and enjoyed working on this month.]
I had some ambitious plans this month…
Check out the video to see how it actually went! 😁
For this post, let’s start with confessions I did not share in the Substack Live.
Confessions & Falling Short:
As I mentioned, working on creating my online Personal Curriculum Courseconsumed most of my creative and free time (and some late evenings).
- I did not get to try out some new cookie recipes yet.
- My idea to do something like this previous post: Cover Design Secrets didn’t happen yet. But I appreciate the positive feedback!
We have had a wonderful amount of rain this month which has been lovely for our dry Arizona climate, but has discouraged me from leaving the house. I have not gotten to go extra places as often as I had planned.
- no hiking and exploring nature trails
- but I did take a few long walks in the neighborhood between storms, and one time Kyle and I got stuck in the rain on the way back. ⛈️
- no coffee shops or library trips
The rainy days were the reason I stayed home more but they were excellent inspiration for a simmering pot of soup and some homemade rolls.
I don’t have links to share because I rarely follow recipes. 😉
But here are the ones I took photos of:

🎉⭐Here is the quick overview of my course:
How to Build a Personal Curriculum
- #1 – How to Set Up Your Personal Curriculum
- #2 – Making It Happen: How To Plan It Out
- #3 – Roadblocks: Crazymakers & Making Space
- #4 – The 9 Invisible Rules Holding Us Back
- #5 – The Secrets to Momentum
I will be sharing more about this after the Christmas holiday break! 😁
Below is my photo from our lunch celebrating finishing my course and having it go live. I went out to eat at Panera with youngest two (Lara & Kyle).
Trying to practice what I teach. Especially since lesson #5 is all about celebrating milestones and small wins. 😜
It felt good to do something that day to mark meeting a deadline and passing a finish line on that project. I also wanted to thank Lara and Kyle for all the slack they have picked up in the last two months. They have stepped up and helped with cooking, cleaning, and even encouraging me on days when I have been frustrated. 💙

I will definitely be adjusting the pace of my personal curriculum as we head into Thanksgiving week, quickly followed by ushering in the Christmas season. 🎄
As things slow down this next month, I have a few practical posts to share before I take a holiday break. And of course I will be posting my December Personal Curriculum post on Tues, Dec 2nd.
I hope that whatever you are doing this week brings you joy.
May your kitchens be full of delicious foods and excellent conversations!!
And if you need to spend a few minutes hiding in your closet with a book and a slice of pie, that is okay too!
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🥧
Have a great week!
